Arts to See, Arts to Do…. there’s always something happening at the FAC. Opened in 1995 by then Prime Minister, the Hon. Paul Keating and designed by renowned Australian architect, Daryl Jackson Frankston Arts Centre is one of Australia’s largest metropolitan arts venues. With an 800 seat theatre, 3 gallery spaces and a purpose-built digital media space…. there’s always something to do or see. The FAC provides a huge variety of theatre from drama and comedy to music and family performances. Many iconic Australian companies including; Melbourne Symphony, Victorian Opera, the Australian Ballet and Bell Shakespeare appear at the Centre in additional to International performers and companies including; Miriam Margoles, Steven Berkoff, Hale & Pace and The Russian Ballet. FAC hosts International touring events including; Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow Cube 37 is the FAC’s glass fronted creative arts space attracting new media artists and housing wet studio, workshop rooms, digital media suite and exhibition galleries. Cube 37 was completed and opened in 2001 by then Prime Minister, the Hon. John Howard. The FAC has fully equipped Function Centre which can seat up to 500 and plays host to a range of events including corporate seminars and community expos, gala dinner dances and awards ceremonies. The Centre is an accessible and inclusive arts venue with a dedicated arts access officer and and welcomes people of all ages, abilities and circumstances. The FAC also aims to aid mental health and wellbeing by increasing access for people and their families who may be facing disadvantage in connecting to the arts. The FAC is accessible by wheelchair, accepts Companion Cards, has a drop-off zone, audio assistance receivers, Auslan signed and Live Theatre Captioned performances. It has a direct access car park and a fully licensed bar offering an extensive selection of beverages and bar meals. Fine dining is available 5.30pm for selected performances offering a quality contemporary menu designed by our very own executive chef.
